The production at Danosha is based on a modern pig production of high quality pig meat for the Ukrainian market.

Currently we have production on four farms, and we are continuesly building more farms to expand the production.

We are renting fields which are being process according to modern arable technology to contribute to the production of feed on our own feed mill.

The manure from the pigs going to be utilized on the biogas plant we are building next to the farms, which generate electricty and heat for the farms and the feed mill, as well as better and almost non-smelling fertilizers for the fields - beyond contributing to a better global environment. Danosha's Pig Production

The main activity of Danosha is pig breeding. The production is based on Danish know-how and high quality genetic material imported from Denmark.

The barns on Danosha are based on the best available technology (BAT), where we are combining very high animal welfare with good and safe working conditions. All sows on Danosha are housed by group housing, according to European rules 2013.

The organization of pig breeding on Danosha is based on the three-site production concept, where the production cycle is divided into three stages (sow farms, weaner farms, finisher farms). In that way the pigs are housed under the best possible circumstances and according to their needs.

Sow farms

• Kopanki sowfarm = 6000 sows
• Luka sowfarm = 4200 sows

Weaner farms

• Kopanki weaners = 22000 weaners
• Luka weaners = 21000 weaners

Finisher farms

• Kopanki finishers = 27000 finishers
• Tustan finishers = 24500 finishers
• Wielki finishers = 7200 finishers

The vision for the pig production at Danosha is 15 000 sows with full line production, and care for our surroundings, the environment and animal welfare.

Danosha's Arable Production

Danosha has a current landbank of 10.000 hectares. At the moment 6.000 hectares are in crop rotation and the rest is made ready for expansion of used area, which will be done latest 2013. The arable department is focusing on making good work in good time, and to produce crops of the highest standards. The main crops are winter barley, winter rape, winter wheat and corn.

The company is located on the breach of the black soil region in Ukraine, which gives that soils are strong and have big potential yield wise.

The fields are treated mostly by the principles of minitill, meaning no ploughing before seeding. This ensures us that we with relatively few machines can do all seeding and tilling in good time. Before seeding we do cultivation in 5 to 25 centimeters depth, to ensure the roots of the new plants has optimal conditions and to mix old stubble into the ground.

The location of the company is close to the Carpathian mountains, which gives that within a year 1200 millimeters of rain fall on us. Thus we have to be careful about plant protection and to make extra precautions, like ploughing corn stubbles to minimize fusarioses. Due to the climate of this specific area we do not have many days with optimal conditions for working in the fields.

One of the main tasks for Danosha arable is to distribute all slurry from our pigs farms. This is done with the most possible care for our surroundings, both environmental surroundings and nearby neighbors. We deliver nearly all slurry to the fields by hoses or a pipeline, to minimize heavy traffic on local roads. The machinery is a mix of new and well-kept used machinery, of both eastern and western origin.

Danosha´s Construction

Danosha´s Construction is taking care of all kinds of construction for our company.

There are around 250 employed in the department. Our scope of activities is:

• We produce our own penning systems and slats
• We develop projects, plan them and build them, so all steps in the building process are included.
• We also make our own fully covered and closed lagoons for storing slurry.
• After the projects are taken into production we take care of the maintains inside and outside.

The building department is divided up in several sub groups; concrete, mounting, plumbers, electricians, feed and ventilation, maintaining indoor, maintaining outdoor, slat production, penning production, carpenters, lagoon construction, special metal works and drawing and development.
